The Inverelll Kurrajong Re-enactment Committee Inc was formed at a public meeting in December 2013.
The Committee comprises of several relatives of Kurrajong men and other World War 1 soldiers, along with members of various local organisations such as Red Cross, Legacy, Inverell RSL Sub-Branch, Inverell Art Gallery, sporting organisations as well as local historians.
The re-enactment of Inverell's 1916 snowball recruiting march was the catalyst to remember the extraordinary efforts of all the district's soldiers, nurses and the community during World War 1. Other events may be held during the Anzac Commemorative years to 1918.
To recognise and commemorate the contribution of the Inverell District to World War 1, including a re-enactment of the 1916 Kurrajong recruiting March.
